This morning was spent binding the final copy of my dissertation.
Although I now have a lot more time to get on with the remaining juggernauht of project work, it’s a bit of a shame to see the dissertation go. Definitely an essay I’ve been wanting to write for a good long while.

My best eBay buy of last term was this amazing piece of Disney memorabilia-
A limited edition programme from Disney’s Fantasia, which accompanied the first run of the film in cinemas in 1940. Limited to 2000 copies, the 30-page programme takes you through each movement of the film, with colour artwork and written commentary of the music and animation. Equally cool is that the film’s original length is a whopping 2hours40mins, Which did badly to the point an 80 minute version was released in cinemas quickly after the premier. This programme is for the whole feature.
Michael Sporn Animation has scans of a copy, and you can have a flick through here.

Just came across the trailer for animated film ‘Paths of Hate’ written and directed by Damien Nenow. Not so sure on the title, but the animation had me sold.
I’ve never seen such dynamic, smooth motion across such a frantic flight sequence done well, and done in such a visually captivating way.

Alberto Mielgo is an animator/illustrator with a great eye for landscapes and colour. If you ever played Beatles Rock Band, he was responsible for the first chunk of the opening video.
This piece is from his blog, a concept background animation for Cartoon Network TV show Kid Cole and Klay.

Mark Bouyer, Max Loubaresse, and Anthony Vivien animated and directed (with two others) this fantastic animation short that brightened my day. The characterisation and animation style is fantastic, and the whole film makes these guys ones to watch in the future.

Pete is a nice and clumsy salesman. But he’s also a deadly super secret agent with a microprocessor implanted into his brain by some mad scientists from the government ! He has to secretly stop a bunch of badguys who stole a magic stone that can change anything into seafood !

Colin Hesterly is an Animation student on the cusp of graduation.
He put together an amazing piece called World of Motion that I’ve watched far too many times today already.
