Nice poster work from The Heads Of State.

Jude Landry is a Mississippi based Illustrator/Designer/Letterer, who has a nice collection of work over at his site HERE.
Shin, Dokho is a south Korean designer, with some really excellent print and type work. Take a look here.
Directed by Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton, I’ve been avoiding the teaser trailers for ‘John Carter From Mars’- hoping it’s not going to fall too far into the ‘Avatar on Mars’ vein of things but perhaps fearing for the evident.
This teaser poster was recently released and was refreshingly eyecatching against the 13 common poster trends that were circulating the blogs last month.
Go and make your mind up about the film here.
Alvin Diec has a fantastic portfolio. This poster is part of a restaurant branding project, and demonstrates some of his great skills with typographic detailing.
I’d really recommend diving into his site and looking at some of the larger projects as well as more poster work.

Tom Eckersley was an English poster designer and illustrator, he also spent much of his life teaching about design.
There’s’ a good collection of all his work to be found over at VADS.
DKNG Studios are the in-house poster team for American music venue The Troubadour, but also seem to produce a lot of other work here and there.
Lovely illustration for an Explosions in the Sky show from this October.
I think what’s nice about this as well is the poster certainly leans towards the ambient, interpretive, and instrumental vibe of Explosions in the Sky. I’m one of those types that likes to have at least some kind of link between the band and the poster art. Often this isn’t the case in gig posters…

Matt Hallock is the designer behind this great poster for Shakespeare’s Hamlet - ‘meant to graphically portray the character conflict experienced in the story’. It hits the tone of the play brilliantly, with some great use of type along the way.
Take a look at more work here.
Follow his Tumblr here (and thanks Matt for following me, apologies for stalking into your site).
‘Snapper31’ has a nice little set of 1940s Guinness Advertising prints on his flickr account. Not sure where the Zoo animals fit in, but it’s a combination that seemingly works in personalising and making the beer very approachable - contrasting well against other 1940s propaganda WWII posters.
Go check them out here.
Michael De Pippo designed a whole set of posters celebrating a retro muppet concert of in-house muppet band Dr-Teeth & The Electric Mayhem.
I always forget how great so many aspects of The Muppet Show are. Animal drumming for Rita Moreno is a must see if you never have.
See the whole poster series here.
I’ve blogged ‘People Too’ before with their wonderfully executed papercraft constructions but I encountered this project of theirs staying strictly on the page, and illustrating over old sheet music. An amazing amount of detail, attention and care has gone into each.
Check out more of the project here.
