‘The wind map is a living portrait of of the wind currents over the U.S.’
Wonderfully designed by Fernanda Viegas and Martin Wattenberg, hypnotic to watch, and also contains an animated history database of memorable/eventful wind patterns and events.

The arrival of December also means the release of this year’s annual music mix project. Made up of songs I’ve been listening to this year, ‘Songs For Paris’ is soundtrack to some favourite spots in the city of lights after living here for almost a year and a half.
I also made an ambitious website to accompany the mix. Check it out HERE.
Enjoy, and have a great Christmas!

This incredible Bernard Ratzer “Plan of the City of New York” map in its 1770 state was discovered in the first half of last year. After much restoration work it can now be enjoyed here.
The World Gesture Guide, is a project put together by Spanish designer Alba Durana.
I don’t speak Spanish, but the project appears like a comprehensive guide through commonly recognised hand gestures, with deeper study into how they are interpreted in different countries.
What I love about the project is the concept application, so that the guide extends from the initial book into things like flashcards, and my favourite, maps for specific places.
Check more of the project here.
V&A and me, is a really fantastic project mapping out routes through London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. Each map takes selections from various designers/authors/media figures, and gives different routes to work through the museum.
It adds a brilliant personal touch to something many would class impersonal and boring. I’m in London next weekend so might try and grab the set. See more photos here.
