Mike Bayne is not a photographer, he is a fine art painter. Specialising in images of the everyday and mundane, the very selection of his medium to present such images reveals detail in places that would otherwise be overlooked.
Take a look at more of his work here.

DKNG Studios are the in-house poster team for American music venue The Troubadour, but also seem to produce a lot of other work here and there.
Lovely illustration for an Explosions in the Sky show from this October.
I think what’s nice about this as well is the poster certainly leans towards the ambient, interpretive, and instrumental vibe of Explosions in the Sky. I’m one of those types that likes to have at least some kind of link between the band and the poster art. Often this isn’t the case in gig posters…

Simply known as ‘Ito’, the photographer has a nice mixture of landscapes and portraiture work, including a trip out to Ethiopia.

Kate Peters photography ‘Ask the Dust’ contains a great set of images worth a look through. In fact all of her projects and portfolio combined create a brilliant collection of work.
On top of that she studied photography here in Falmouth. Good stuff.

Edward Burtynsky’s photography gives a fascinating visual commentary on the relationship betweens industry, landscape and people.
The work reminded me of photography documentary Manufactured Landscapes, before then realising that was because he made the film.
Burttynsky is well known, but if you haven’t taken a look through his work before it’s worth your time. Do it here.

Hengki Koentjoro is a photographer from Jakarta, who seems to specialise in underwater black and white photography. He’s got some beautiful images worth a look through.
I’d like straight to his portfolio but frankly, Fubiz did a better job at showing the photos. See them here.

Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere is a photography project by Chris Sisarich, taking a look at the landscapes of Egypt.
Great use of negative space and minimalist subject inclusion.

These beautifully detailed oil paintings by Sea Hyun Lee caught my attention. using the negative space as representation of water, and the redness of what would otherwise be a luscious green landscape creates a great contrast which seems both loud, but quite understated at the same time. Nice.

Scroll past the portrait work and Tim Navis has a really nice series of landscapes from various places including this shot from San Fransisco.
Hopefully he’ll implement tagging on his cargo site at some point so it’s easy to group them together.

9Eyes Tumblr is making the rounds this morning. One of the better collections of Google Street View photography.
Part of me feels like people are going to look back on collections like these in years to come as the ultimate slice of life examples of what this generation was like. I’m undecided on how accurate the portrayal is…
