I’m a big fan of clean and simple design layouts with a handcrafted edge, and this doesn’t fail to deliver.

I’m undecided if this tear off ad for a doctor specializing in circumcision is brilliant or a bit naff. We’ll see once the novelty wears off…
Not sure who designed it, source at copyranter
Hifi Lit has a fantastic collection of vintage hifi catalogues scans you should look at here.
Ross Berens put together this great infographics/typography project
for Typography III where I collected statistics from my everyday life and even altered parts of my day in order to accurately form letters out of the data.

I’ve posted work from Graphic Design company DesignersJourney before.
They have a great approach to handheld aesthetics that I find really appealing. They have a fair few wine label designs in their portfolio and this one really stuck out.

I would like some Birdy Juice…

Abby Brewster is a recent design graduate from Atlanta. She’s put together this great solution to packaging Cheese stylishly and informatively.
Bridge Street Fromagerie is a family-owned cheese shop located in historic Lambertville, NJ. A series of dual-purpose adhesive labels were designed to secure the cheese’s paper wrapping and to act as informational guides for the customers. Identifying individual characteristics of the cheese as well as suggested alcohol pairings, the labels provide Bridge Street’s cheesemongers with an additional means to share their knowledge with the shop’s customers.

The design world continues to moan about the new Gap logo (which is atrocious and not pictured above).
Alex Cornell (blogger over at iso50) has decided to do something a bit more interesting than moan, and open up an unofficial competition to redesign the logo over at iso50 where the long list of entries keeps filling up.
Scrawl through them here. There’s quite a mix of posts (humerous entries/serious entries/variations on the previous logo), and the ‘winner’ will be announced on Wednesday.
Vintage Vanguard is a japanese site with one of the most complete collections of Blue Note jazz record covers I’ve seen. There are some iconic pieces in here from the likes of designers such as Reid Miles worth seeing.

I’m loving the packaging design for Eat Pastry (designed by Moxie Sozo).
It makes full use of the space given by the tub without feeling like an overwhelming amount, as well as utilizing great colour and illustration. Now all it needs is to be available in the UK…
