Moving Brands put together this new refocussed design of the Wikipedia brand. On the surface it looks fairly plain but I’d recommend taking a look and seeing how the logo comes a bit more to life depending on what kind of pages you’re looking at.

Norwegian design agency Frank worked this project for Lade Gaars Brygghus beers.
There’s something nice about the fact this work doesn’t have anything particularly subversive about it’s design- it’s just been created maturely and delicately, with a fine attention to detail and presentation.

Design Agency Ogilvy and Mather put together this campaing for Tamiya, a company that produces plastic and resin kits for modellers.
The campaign presents four custom made kits depicting famous conspiracies from American culture: Elvis Presley, Roswell, the Moon Landing, JFK’s Assassination, and Marylin Monroe’s death. The whole thing is put alongside the simple caption ‘Tamiya Put It Together’. Love the subtlety of the message and how fitting it is of the somewhat investigative and sleuthlike nature of people into model making kits.

DesignersMX is a mixtape website made by designers, for designers.
A website intended for designers to share the music they listen to whilst working away. Annoyingly encountered after putting together a similar project with some friends last year. The execution of this is great though, so go check it out.

Jazz musician Chris Tarry is also an author, and so combined his short stories with his fifth album release. Vancouver based agency RethinkCanada tackled the design and describe the piece as follows:

The illustrations first set the stage and draw the reader to the stories, while the album’s musical landscape completes the picture… As an extra twist, the CD lies at the bottom of a large die-cut hole in the book, mirroring the fall of the character from the cover illustration.

Australian motion designer Patrick Clair made this fantastic piece of motion infographics about ‘Stuxnet: the first weapon made entirely out of code’.
Really creative delivery of all the text tied very directly with it’s subject matter, impressive when the subject is essentially about a piece of code.

Somewhat ridiculous but somewhat great ad campaign from DDB Group New Zealand advertising short shorts at Superette. Leaving indented plates on benches and bus stops around the city (not sure which one) the mark is imprinted on the thighs of those wearing short shorts, advertising Superettes shorts.
You also know the wording of your campaign board is good when it opens ‘With both men and women now wearing their shorts at breathtaking heights…’

I bookmarked this ages ago and lost the designers behind it.
Brilliant creative use of a newspaper front page presenting a well-balaned lead in to its article. It also helped to siginificantly move along a project I did earlier this year in Falmouth…
